Specialty Compliance Marking

Direct Part Marking

Sometimes, a typical adhesive label isn’t an option on cab Laser Marking Systemcertain products. When you need a better solution for marking and barcoding your unique product lines, Adaptive Data is here to help. Partnering with cab Technology, ADI offers direct part laser marking systems to satisfy any and all of your labeling needs, including UID. The latest technology in this field is the fiber laser (F10/F20) by cab Technologies. As seen on the right, this laser marking system can be applied to any industrial field with the customized solutions offered by ADI.

This type of marking system is used in a variety of industries like automotive, electronic (as seen on the bottom right), consumer goods, medical, pharmaceutical, and many more. If your products need to be UID compliant, we can help you with that, too! The cab direct part marking laser is capable of meeting all DoD specifications for uniquely identifying your products.

Why should you choose cab and their fiber laser? In addition to the reasons listed below, look at what sets cab apart from the rest HERE.

The features and benefits of the cab direct part laser marking system include, but are not limited to:

  1. Low power of single diode= extended lifetime (MTBF > 50,000 hours)
  2. High beam quality (TEM00 / M^2=1,4): The design of the resonator in the fiber optics leads to a very precise and symmetric beam which can be recognized in a small M-square value and the beam class of TEM00.
  3. No optical components which cause poor alignment: Usually, lasers are designed with a UID Labelsresonator containing many optical components. These components must be in perfect alignment with each other. Any mistakes in the alignment can cause poor beam quality and great loss of power.
  4. No first pulse (beneficial for micro marking): Standard, q-switched laser marking systems have a first pulse, which leads to inconsistent marking results. Fiber lasers do not have this effect–they mark with a constant impulse power; therefore, fiber lasers are recommended for micro marking or any marking on highly sensitive materials.
  5. Highly integrated system: Because of the high efficiency and minimal loss, the Cab fiber lasers are highly integrated. The laser source is supported by a 19-inch rack which can be easily integrated in rack-cabinets or used as a desktop version.
  6. Supply unit and scanning head are separated/modular system: Material treatment by laser causes thermal and physical reactions, which lead to exposures around the marking. This dust or dirt can effect or even kill the electronic of laser markers. Cab has separated the laser source and the galvo head into two different units. The head surrounding the marking and the laser source can be installed in a safe environment.
